I MADE IT!!!!

Well! Today has been so crazy, I'm glad I'm still living!! First of all, I'm signed up for private piano lessons and it has been recommended to take music therapy piano lessons. The music therapist that teaches piano on campus teaches at the same time that I work so I couldn't take from her. So she referred me to another lady who doesn't teach on campus, but who is also a music therapist. I don't have a car so I have to catch a bus. This is where the crazy story starts.

I was walking on campus after one of my classes and ran into my cousin and her fiancé. It was about 12:00 and my piano lesson was at 1:15 at the Island. She asked where I was going and I told her the Transit Center so I needed to catch a bus. I noticed a bus coming on the other side of the street so I said goodbye and ran across and made it onto the bus. I was feeling pretty good about life. I made it onto the bus without having to wait very long! So the bus was going, people were getting on and off and all was normal. It seemed like we were going a little more north than the regular route did, but I didn't think anything of it, I thought it'd just loop back around. So the bus just keeps getting more north and more north. I thought "Great, this is going to Idaho!" but it was a fleeting thought. Eventually we were in Smithfield. I kept rationalizing and saying "Oh, this is probably the last stop and then it'll turn back around. But it kept going more and more north.

Eventually I pulled out my phone and started texting people that would probably know the route of this bus better than I would. My pride was too high to ask anyone on the bus. That would've been too embarrassing. So my friend Shane Tisdale was the one to tell me the bus went to Richmond... about 10 minutes away from Idaho. By that time I was entering Richmond so I let him know that was the bus I was on. He offered to come pick me up, but I figured since the bus was south bound now it would take longer for me to get off the bus and wait for someone to come pick me up. Shane said, "Don't worry about it. Just get off the bus."

So I got off the bus at North Cache Middle School and waited inside the seminary. I felt so ridiculous in my sweats and big boots sitting in the hallway and having little 9th graders see me- a college student- just chilling in their seminary building. It was rather hilarious. So Shane came and got me and it was about 1:00, 15 minutes til my lesson. I called and let my teacher know I wasn't going to be there exactly on time, but I'd be there. So Shane decided to be awesome and buy some Pizza Plus bread sticks since I wasn't able to eat anything like I planned. Shane used to work for them and he delivered pizzas- so I picked the right person who knew the shortcuts around Logan. We were talking about classes and stuff and asked him if he was done for the day. He told me he had one more class.....at 1:30. I felt so bad!!!

So Shane dropped me off at my lesson- only 15 minutes late, which is pretty good if you ask me! I wish I could say this is where the story ends. But it's not. My whole lesson I was worrying about getting back to class on time because I had a lesson at 3 and had to catch a bus. So on the bus back to class I didn't really know the area. I was hoping it would stop kinda by Old Main so I could walk to my class from there but it didn't. It was okay though because I still had time to catch a transfer bus and hopefully make it to my test on time. I remembered that there was a South Campus bus that goes right to my class so I'd take a bus that could drop me off at a South Campus stop and then I'd take that right to my class.

USU has this handy gadget of being able to text the bus and find out where it is. So I was texting it and seeing if I'd be able to make it. I got off the bus and it said I had 8 minutes til the bus got there so I knew I'd be able to make it. As I was walking up the hill to the South Campus bus stop I saw the South Campus bus turn the corner. I couldn't cross the street because the light was red and if I tried I'd die. So I was saying in my head "Oh my goodness please don't leave! Please don't leave!" I started crossing the road and the bus stayed there so I was relieved and said "Good, the driver sees me in his mirror and is waiting for me." Right as I got to the bus it took off. I waved my arms like a crazy person but they didn't stop. I looked across the street and saw the Campus Loop and Stadium Express buses were there and I about crossed the road to catch those, but they took off too. I wanted to scream!!!!! So I called my roommate and asked if she had class. Yes, folks this is where the story ends. She didn't have class so she was able to drive me to my class!

THANK YOU SO MUCH SHANE AND KYRA!!!!!!! YOU ARE MY LIFESAVERS!!!!

I have to ride the bus to work tomorrow. Ugh. I'm tired.

Oh, and 18 days!!!
