Hello family! I can't believe a week from today I'll be on the airplane heading to Germany. I don't have my flight plans with me right now, but I do get to e-mail you on Saturday before I leave so I'll fill you in on all of that then.
This week was so good! Our investigators that our teachers played were people we taught on the mission and we got to learn about them and it was really awesome. One of my teachers is getting married this week, so we're going to be teacherless during one part of classroom instruction. But it'll be good, I think we will have a sub and get to practice door approaches and things. That will be good to practice seeing as........we're doing that super soon.
Well, President Uchtdorf didn't speak- too bad. But it was someone from the quorum of the 70 who's name escapes me right now.
Elders haven't really done anything with bananas this week. So that's nice.
So I saw Sister Laubaugh's bum. It was an accident, but she was changing her garments and said "warning" which is what she normally says, but she hadn't said anything before that so I thought she said "Good morning!" so I looked over. Lo and behold! Good morning to you too!!
Sis McCappin's mom is doing well as far as I know. She hasn't heard much so she's assuming that's a good sign. All the sisters in my district are going to Berlin and 4 elders. 5 Elders are going to Frankfurt. It will be sad to separate and say goodbye, they're all so great an entertaining.
I so wish I could've seen you at the wedding gagging and dad laughing. I could totally picture it. It was wonderful. Also, Bruce and Amanda look so great and happy! Congratulations!!
I have NO idea what is going on with money. No no no idea. I get $8 a week on my MTC card. I can probably go talk to someone about it. I'll do that today and see if I understand. You try to find out too and I'll write you about what I find out.
Oh, the reason we're leaving a week early is because there's a mission president conference in Frankfurt the week we were supposed to get there so our president wanted to be there when we got there so he arranged it so we could come early! How thoughtful!
Oh, you should watch music and the spoken word sunday mornings. It brings the spirit to the rest of the sunday and its so great. I always see Happy Lady and think ofy ou.
The Elders found my camera and took pictures of them and a snail. I'll have to print some and send some. They're so crazy.
I wend to the doctor and found out I don't have 2 bumps of bone on my femur that keeps my knee in place like the normal person and my patella is also really flexible and loose so they're strengthening my quads up with physical therapy. I think they're billing you so I hope you're getting that. Also they found out that my ankles have 13 degrees of space between the bones and there's only supposed to be 8. If I had 16 degrees they'd recommend surgery. They're doing therapy for that too. There are no delays on my departure though, so that's excellent. All the therapy they're teaching me is stuff I can do in an apartment, so I'll be able to keep doing therapy after I leave.
I tried out for a musical number, they didn't ask me to do it because of my departure date. But they encouraged me to do it in my branch so I sang "Still Believe" by Hilary Weeks and it went pretty well.
Our elders seem to be over bananas like I said, but they've taken a liking to using chopsticks like wands and doing killing curses and such. Its entertaining, but at the same time I'm a little nervous they'll be regretting their Harry Potter reinactions once they set foot in Germany. Nah, they'll be fine.
We found out that Brother Ehlen, the teacher that is getting married, got an answer to his prayers in one of the lessons we taught him. That was really cool to find out. The scripture is Alma 15:8 and apparently he's been trying to find a scripture to give to a friend and when we read that in our lesson with him he knew it was the scripture he had to give to his friend. So even though it doesn't feel like we're really missionaries sometimes, we really are- and we are called to help others, even in the MTC.
Oh yeah, I was reading the missionary handbook and found out that my address should not be online or publicly displayed for safety purposes. So if you could take it off my blog and facebook that would be great. Just let people know if they want to write me you'll give them my address. Thanks so much.
So the sisters that left before us hid in our closets and jumped out at us and apparently its a tradition, so we did it to our sisters this week. They were crying though and we didn't know it so I felt bad, but we were glad we were there to comfort them after scaring them out of their wits.
I can't remember if I've mentioned before that me Sis Faerber and Laubaugh love to make shower time Disney song singing time. It's so great. Our personal favorite is "Be a Man" and we love to emphasize the part "Did they send me daughters when I asked for sons". It's so much fun.
You'll be amazing at 6th grade mom. What you imagine happening is what will happen! You show those sixth graders how to Language Arts it up!
I can't believe Jeff is moved out and his mission papers are in!! It's so exciting!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!! I'm really bummed that I'm going to be in Germany when this call opening happens so I won't be able to find out where he's going as soon, but I'm excited to be in Germany. Anyway- I think you, Jeffrey Steven Niebergall, will be going to Chile Santiago mission! Okay. Let me know when you find out.
I know the church is true. I love this gospel and I'm so excited I get to leave a week earlier than expected to teach the people of Germany the plan of happiness and bring them joy they never knew they were missing. I'll write you Saturday if you want to write before then. I'll fill you in more on the flight plans, phone call, money and stuff. I think that's all I have to say. I love you all! Good luck with school! You're amazing. Love you!
Love, Sister Niebergall
